The OfficePower Web Server
OfficePower Web is the latest way to access your OfficePower data and will evolve over the
next few versions of OfficePower/Xtra. On this page we offer some advice to accompany the
software.
- Some versions of Microsoft Explorer 4.01 do not always refresh a page from the server
when a query URL is supplied. This can affect the Send Mail option (when used for the
second time) as the server is not informed that a mail message is to be sent. As there are
an excessive number of IE4 versions it is not possible to state which cause the problem
(vers 4.72.3110.8 works correctly).
To fix this problem set the option in
View->Internet Options->Temporary Internet Files->Settings
to Every visit to this page or aquire a later version of IE4.
- Normally, when displaying an OfficePower document, clicking the link will show the
document in the right-hand browser frame. A useful tip, if you want to see more of the
document, is to right-click your mouse and select the Open in New Window option
(if available in your web browser) instead which will open the document in a new larger window.
- When using the Document Search option it is not possible to search on Modification
dates alone - the prompt will state that you must enter some text to search for.
To fix this, add the following two lines at line 20 in the file
$hp/programs/opweb/psearch.htm:
&& document.psearch.from.value == ""
&& document.psearch.to.value == ""
- If OfficePower Web has been installed on an OP/Xtra V4 system and the server is upgraded to OP/Xtra V5, the following additional extra step must be performed:
cp $hp/programs/opweb/opweb.rc /etc/init.d/opweb
This step is required as the file contents have changed between releases. However, as this file is only copied to the /etc/init.d directory by running the manual install step webcron.sh it is not updated during an upgrade to OP/Xtra V5.
Failure to perform this step will result in users being unable to login into OfficePower.
