OfficePower Keyboard Templates
Many users prefer to use Keyboard Templates in conjunction with
"standard" keyboards in preference to OfficePower-specific keyboards.
TeamWARE Group supplied such templates, designed for use on
the "102-key AT" keyboard which was an industry standard.
There are a number of new types of keyboard now on the market,
including "ergonomic" types (where the Fn keys and QWERTY block
follow a shallow V shape instead of a straight line) and "compact" models
(where the space above and below the Fn keys has been reduced or
removed altogether). The traditional OfficePower keyboard templates
previously supplied by TeamWARE Group will not fit on many of these
new keyboards - indeed, such is the variety, that it is no longer possible
to produce a single template which would fit them all.
To help users who can't use the standard templates, we are introducing
a new range of three reference cards and templates, published in electronic form
only, which you can print out yourselves and use in place of the old (plastic)
templates. These three A4 documents are available now on the Web - click on the links in the
following paragraphs to download the documents to your PC.
The Keyboard Reference Card (371 Kb) is a diagram of the physical layout
of the keys, each key showing the OfficePower functions assigned to that key.
The Key Mapping Reference Card (21 Kb) is an alphabetic list of OffficePower functions,
listing the key combination for each function.
These two reference cards are for those of you who would like a complete reference
to OfficePower functions stuck up on the wall adjacent to your PC. For those of you who
prefer to have the reference information on or adjacent to the keyboard, try the following
file:
The Keyboard Template (314 Kb) is a "cut-out" replacement for the traditional keyboard
templates. It is designed to be printed on card, and comprises two mini-templates
showing the OfficePower functions on the Fn keys and the Cursor/Number Pad respectively.
These two items can be cut out and stuck to the top edge of your keyboard, or the bottom
edge of your monitor - the template for the Fn keys can be cut in half to fit an "ergonomic"
keyboard.
The three documents are in Adobe Acrobat (.PDF) format, and can be viewed or printed
using the Acrobat Viewer supplied on the OfficePower/Xtra CD. The Keyboard Reference Card
and Keyboard Template use the same blue and red colour coding
as on the traditional templates to indicate use of the Alt and Ctrl keys - they are therefore
most effective when printed on a colour printer!
